Sugarbabes

Sugar Babes First things first! I was featured on the Paper N Stitch blog, yesterday. The photograph over there, on the right, was featured (which you can only buy here), along with “Eat” and my Bubblegum Machine notecards. Thanks Brittni!

Secondly, the Gnats are back in town, but the weather isn’t looking all that fantastic - so I’m not sure if there will be a game tonight or not. That reminds me, we have a friend there, Mr. Willie - comes to almost every game, except on Sunday (and when he’s not feeling well.)

Mr. Willie on the moundIf you’ve ever been to a Gnat’s (that’s a local baseball team, fyi) game, he’s the guy that yells “Sit down in your seat!” They’ve even got a sound-byte of him yelling that and they’ll play it, sometimes, on the rare chance that our pitcher strikes someone out. Anyway, Mr. Willie had been in the hospital for a few days (something to do with a blood clot) and Joe called and checked in with him a couple times. Yesterday, Mr. Willie called us and he’s back at home now, but not sure when he’ll be able to get out and about just yet.

Anyway, just thought I’d let you all in on that little tidbit, since there’s not really a whole lot going on business-wise. I’m still having a buy one get one free jewelry sale and my photography & notecards (on Etsy) are buy one get one 50% off, full details here.

Thanks for reading - and have a great day!

A busy day in the neighborhood…

Untitled Landscape

Finally, I have my package of (white, print my own) labels. Soap labeling and creation can now safely resume! In other news, the post office was inoperable yesterday - something to do with a pipe exploding and having no power. Hopefully, today will be a success - I even have a new order to ship. Yay!

In other news, I ordered this tent, yesterday. It looks pretty good to me! But we’ll see when it gets here.

In other other news, that photograph was added to the shop yesterday, too. You can purchase an 8×8″ for only $20 -and- I’m having a “buy one get one 50% off” sale, so you could get another print for half price! Yeah!

And that just about does it for me, today. Have a great day, everyone & thanks for reading!

Here comes the story of the hurricane…

HurricaneThe title of this subject is from a Bob Dylan song, naturally. It’s actually my favorite :) Anyway… last year, there was Tropical Depression Andrea. This year, it’s Tropical Storm Fay. My sister’s name is Andrea Faye. I told her that she needs to keep her tropical weather in check. She likes it that storms have her name. The storm last year was pretty memorable. We decided to go out to Tybee for ice cream at the Sugar Shack and it went from nice and sunny to darn-near-hurricane in the span of about 15 minutes. Ah, memories :)

So, the photograph atop this post, is fairly old (more than 2 years) and was taken at the “Spirit of America” festival back home, in Decatur, AL. Which reminds me, I’m going to send an ACEO sized print of “Eat” to the cafe in Decatur (”City Cafe”) where I took my now-famous, #1 selling photograph, with a note of gratitude. I think it’s a nice gesture - maybe they’ll even display it.

The ‘Eat’ photograph came out a lot better than I’d imagined. I took it on my last visit home. My mom and her husband were going out for their anniversary dinner and my sister had to work, so I took it upon myself to go do some shooting. I parked in front of the City Cafe, called Joe and looked up and just shot the sign once, just once and proceeded to shoot various other landmarks. Of all the photographs from that trip, Eat, was the best. Anywho, enough about that. What’s going on today?

I’m sending off a couple packages and probably ordering a “Quick Shade” tent so it’ll get here before the SMB.

Sparkling BeachSpeaking of packages, I’d like to share some feedback I received from a customer. Rebecca lives in Savannah, but will be moving to Tennessee here shortly. She ordered my cemetery triptych and “Sparkle” (the same day I listed them, if i’m not mistaken.) Anyway, she got the photographs and said that they “look even more gorgeous in person.” Isn’t that great?! When I got the prints in the mail from the printers and opened them up, I was amazed. The “Sparkle” photograph looks 100 times more sparkly on paper than it does on screen. I was very tempted to keep it for myself! And the triptych turned out fantastically as well. I’m allowed to be proud of myself sometimes, right? :) Thanks Rebecca!

And thank you all for reading - have a great day! And don’t forget about my sale!

Spreadin’ some love.

Take a look at my dear friend Erin’s jewelry, won’t you? She’s amazingly talented and has been my #1 (repeat, even) customer so far! :) Thank you Erin! Here’s a taste of what’s in her shop…

In other news, Heather’s painting A Little Garlic was on the front page of Etsy, yesterday!

I feel so privileged to know such talented ladies :)
I think I’ll start *trying* to have a regular Sunday feature on other Etsy artists. I’ll start out locally, then branch out. Stay tuned! Thanks for reading!
